Overdues

Overdue notices are sent as a courtesy and failure to receive one, for whatever reason, does not remove your responsibility for meeting each due date or paying subsequent fines. View your account regularly through My Account.
The ASU Library uses e-mail for all library notices. Please refer to the Library Notices Policy page for more information.
If you believe an item charged to your account has been returned, please fill out the Claims Returned Form.
Borrowing privileges suspended if library fee is more than $25.00. Failure to return library materials and pay overdue fees may result in further collection procedures, including the possibility of action by a Collection Agency.

Standard Fines and Fees for Books and CDs
Borrower Type	Privilege Suspension and Associated Charges
Faculty, Staff, and Students	$10.00 billing fee plus cost of replacement on 31st day after due date Standard replacement fee is $100- waived when item is returned undamaged.
Community Card holders	$10.00 billing fee plus cost of replacement on 31st day after due date Standard replacement fee is $100- waived when item is returned undamaged.

Items not returned by midnight on the recall due date are billed a daily $5.00 per item fee; up to a maximum of $25.00.
Recall late fees are strictly enforced and only the replacement cost is cancelled when the item is returned.

Other Fines/Fees

Recalls, Videos, Course Resources, and Interlibrary Loan materials do not have a fine free period.
Type of Fine/Fee	Associated Charges
Course Resources	$1.00 per hour up to $20.00 per item plus cost of replacement. Fines accrue 24 hours a day whether the library is open or not.
Videos/DVDs	Video/DVD fines: check with the owning library.
Interlibrary Loan	$5.00 per day (starting on the due date) late fee with a maximum overdue fee of $25.00. Plus a $150.00 replacement cost Contact ILL Staff to inquire about refund of a paid replacement cost. ILLiad accounts are immediately blocked when a book becomes overdue.

Lost or Damaged Materials
*Cost of Replacement	Cost varies by item - Consult with Library Billing Unit. Replacement cost is dropped when item is returned undamaged.
Damaged Materials	Rebinding $10.00 Other damages: Cost charges vary - Consult with Library Billing Unit Replacement: Cost of item plus a $15.00 processing fee. $10 late fee charged where applicable.
Lost Materials	Materials are billed the cost of replacement.
Refunds	A full cost of replacement will be refunded if library material is returned in good condition within 6 months of billing. Payments cannot be refunded after 6 months.
