ASU affiliates outside Maricopa County
Current ASU affiliates who reside outside of Maricopa County and within the continental United States, as well as Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico, can request library items to be shipped to their residence free of charge. ASU Library covers the cost of shipping, including the cost of return.
When possible, packages are shipped FedEx 2 Day and a FedEx return label is included in shipment. When the recipient has a PO Box or Rural Route address, items will be shipped via United States Postal Service and a USPS return label will be included in shipment.
The recipient is responsible for lost or damaged materials.
ASU affiliates on Reservation Lands or Tribal Communities within Maricopa County
Current ASU affiliates that reside on tribal lands within Maricopa County can request library items to be shipped to them free of charge.
When possible, packages are shipped FedEx 2 Day and a FedEx return label is included in shipment. When the recipient has a PO Box or Rural Route address, items will be shipped via United States Postal Service and a USPS return label will be included in shipment.
The recipient is responsible for lost or damaged materials.
Department of Biomedical Informatics at Mayo Clinic
The ASU Library ships books from our general collection to students, staff or faculty in the Department of Biomedical Informatics located at the Mayo Clinic.
Please indicate your Mayo Clinic affiliation and your mailing address in the ‘Home Address’ field of the online request form. All other Personal Delivery policies apply.
Items that we are not able to ship from ASU Library Collections
- Non-circulating materials (e.g. Reference, Course Resources, Archives) or fragile materials
- Items with holds for other users
- Microforms and Periodicals (make a digitization request)
Items we are not able to ship from Interlibrary Loan
- Materials with loan periods under 3 weeks or with In-Library Use only restrictions
- Media (videos, CDs, etc.) and microforms
- Interlibrary Loans are not eligible for United States Postal Service shipping
How to request books from ASU Library Collections
- Find an item in the ASU Library One Search and place a request.
- Select Home Address under Personal Delivery as the pickup location in the pull down menu.
- Add your mailing address in the notes field in the request box.
Please note
- PO Boxes and Rural Route addresses are now eligible for delivery.
- We are unable to ship to business addresses.
- We are unable to ship to international addresses.
Requested items will be checked out with the standard loan period for your university status and shipped to the mailing address provided.

How to request books from Interlibrary Loan
- Log into My Interlibrary Loan (ILLIAD) Account
- Select Update Profile under Profile:
- Select Online-Extended or Outside Phoenix Metro Area for Campus Affiliation.
- Select Mail to Home Address for Pickup Location.
- Add your physical home mailing address.
- Select the New Book Request form:
- Add your physical home mailing address in the notes field.
Please note
- Interlibrary loans are not eligible for shipping via United States Postal Service.
- We are unable to ship to business addresses.
- We are unable to ship to international addresses or to Puerto Rico.
Requested ILL items with eligible due dates will be checked out and shipped to the mailing address provided. Due dates for ILL materials vary depending on the lending library.
