The ASU Library Map and Geospatial Hub is happy to announce a soft-launch of the new ASU GeoData platform. The goal of ASU GeoData is to provide a data discovery and exploration platform for multiple forms of geographically-referenced data.
ASU GeoData shares, primarily, the data, maps, and imagery managed by the ASU Library Map and Geospatial Hub. These assets also remain available on the ASU Geospatial Data Directory and accessible to all ASU-affiliates via VPN.
ASU GeoData is designed as a platform for not only discovering and distributing raw geospatial data (typically in vector or raster format), but curating all sorts of geographically-referenced information.
We include links to our curated maps and imagery resources so users can find and explore those assets more easily.
The platform also showcases geospatial data sites developed for research initiatives led by ASU investigators.
Finally, ASU GeoData provides direct access to the many authoritative open data sites developed and maintained by various municipalities and government organizations within the state of Arizona.
ASU GeoData remains under active development — thus this Spring 2021 “soft launch”. We are prioritizing the most in-demand data layers for upload and distribution via the platform. In addition to regularly scheduled ingest, data will also be loaded on an on-demand basis.
