James W. Elmore (1917–2007) was the founding dean of the College of Architecture at Arizona State University. This collection documents his professional interests, including a substantial amount of materials on the Rio Salado Project, an organized effort to develop the Salt River flood plain in the Phoenix metro area for recreational and commercial purposes.
