Student workers are the force and face of the ASU Library. More than 200 student workers across seven library locations serve the ASU community each day, contributing to the success and impact of university research, academics and campus life. Your gift to the Tomalee Doan LibAid for Student Success can continue to help students enrich their educational journey and deepen their relationships with the library.

Jacob Robertson joined the Design and the Arts Library as a student worker in 2019.. Jacob has lived in the Phoenix-area for the past decade and graduated from ASU with a B.A. in Art History in 2021. Currently in his second semester of a Master's program in Art History, Jacob is studying 19th century medievalism in British and French art. Being recognized with the LibAid Fall 2021 Award for his work made a huge impact on Jacob’s career and studies. “It was such an honor to be recognized and receive the LibAid Award. Receiving the award also really validated my future career interests in libraries and academia, reassuring me that this is what I want to do,” said Jacob.

Working at the ASU Library continues to be a meaningful experience for Jacob. So much so that in 2022, Jacob became a full-time staff member, continuing to serve ASU Library patrons. “My favorite part of the job are the moments when I connect students with a resource, whatever form it may be. Going from a student worker to a full-time staff member has been extremely fulfilling, as I can make even more of those meaningful connections with a wider range of students and faculty, as well as more staff members,” said Jacob.
