The ASU School of Geographical Sciences and Urban Planning has created a new GIS class for Non-GIS related majors that have little to no experience with GIS!
This class will be perfect for those who are pursuing a degree outside of GIS/Geography but still want to learn more about GIS.

GIS 494/598 GIS Methods for Non-Majors
GIS (geographic information systems) can be a powerful tool for collecting, analyzing and presenting spatial data. It can help to reveal patterns and trends to help us better understand our communities, our environment, our health and more – making GIS a tool that is great for a variety of majors to learn!
This new 4-credit course in GIS methods is specifically designed for students who have little or no background in GIS and will provide students with the opportunity to:

Gain a working knowledge and proficiency of ArcGIS 10.6

Understand the differences between vector and raster data

Produce maps that meet geographic and cartographic standards

Analyze the spatial distribution of phenomena and provide meaningful analysis of spatial attributes
- Communicate and create a dialog with other beginning GIS users
