This submission from the Bj Bud Memorial Archives continues the Community-Driven Archives (CDA) blog themed series “Moments of Joy” which is a collaborative effort between the entire team at CDA as we bring to light images that not only speak to the importance of diverse community stories but also highlights images that we here at CDA absolutely enjoy and want to share.
Happy Saint Patrick’s Day from the CDA team! This image titled “Person in rainbow t-shirt” is a continuation of images that bring me a great amount of joy. Looking at this image reminds me of a shirt I had growing up that looks very similar to the one in the image above that my grandmother gave me for my birthday. My grandmother lived with me, my mother and siblings growing up and was an instrumental figure to me during my childhood. I remember wearing my rainbow shirt all the time especially around her birthday which is coincidentally March 17, Saint Patrick’s Day. She always enjoyed colorful and fun things and some of my most fondest memories of my childhood were playing board games with her like chinese checkers and other card games. I miss her everyday and know that she is looking down on me with pride and great joy.
