Hub Director Featured in American Libraries Magazine

Matthew Toro, ASU Library’s director of maps, imagery, and geospatial services, was featured in the September/October 2021 issue of American Libraries magazine.

The brief magazine feature, titled “On the Map”, offered insights from three geospatial library professionals on the application of various GIS software applications for spatial humanities and interactive exhibits. Toro described the use of QGIS, a free open source software (FOSS), emphasizing the ability to extend the application’s core functionality through the use of third party plugins.
