Concourse opens for Fall 2019 semester

Opening to the ASU community for the Fall 2019 semester, the very first renovated area of Hayden Library – the Concourse level – will feature new amenities and state-of-the-art classrooms, new study spaces and library work spaces, a new northeast entrance and shiny, new restrooms.

The Concourse, scheduled to be open for the first day of classes on August 22, 2019, is the lowest of the renovated floors, connecting Hayden Library’s current entrance to the tower entrance.

Some new services will be available to ASU students, faculty and staff in the Concourse, including a hospitality area, an interfaith reflection space, wellness and lactation rooms and gender-inclusive restrooms.

On the northeast side of Hayden Library, a new entrance will provide students a direct route to their classrooms, study spaces and wellness spaces located on the Concourse.

Originally constructed in 1966, ASU's largest library, Hayden Library, is in the final stages of its 21st century transformation.

Set to re-open in January 2020, the reinvented library will feature above-ground entrances, enhanced student space with added seating, state-of-the-art learning labs, inspiring exhibits and active print collections, information points on every floor and an entire floor devoted to innovation.
