The version of a work that has, after passing peer review and having been updated based on feedback, been accepted for publication. May also be referred to as the postprint or final accepted manuscript.
Article Processing Charge
The fee paid to a publisher to make an article open access. These fees vary from publisher to publisher and can be charged by fully OA journals or hybrid journals.

Outlines how data will be collected, processed, analyzed, described, preserved and shared during the course of a research project.
Diamond Open Access
Publishing in an Open Access journal that has no Article Processing Charge. Diamond OA journals are usually community driven, non-commercial publications.
Digital Object Identifier
A digital identifier for an object (physical, digital or abstract). DOIs allow objects to be uniquely and persistently identified.
Embargo
Period after publication of research where the publisher has the exclusive right to share the work. These embargoes, lasting 12 to 18 months typically, are waived if an Article Processing Charge is paid. After they are concluded, the author may share their Author Accepted Manuscript in a repository, but not the Version of Record.
Gold Open Access
Published in an open access journal, often at a cost charged as an Article Processing Charge.
Green Open Access
Also known as self-archiving. Refers to making a work published with a publisher also available to the public through an institutional or disciplinary open access repository.
Open Access
In terms of publication, open access refers to publications that are freely available to the public without access fees or other barriers.
ORCID
The Open Researcher and Contributor ID is a free, unique, persistent identifier for individuals to use as they engage in research, scholarship and innovation activities.

Persistent Identifier
A long-lasting reference to a digital resource (object, person or organization).
Repository
