This manual is relevant for a broad array of training programs that prepare skilled behavioral healthcare practitioners and managers to work in new integrated care models. Resources include models and guidelines for integrated care delivery for practitioners in varied settings, i.e., graduate degree training, certificate training, health system education and corporate workforce development. Examples offered throughout the text apply to the learners within each setting. In addition, integrated behavioral practitioners may find this manual useful in considering and evaluating their own skills.
Bios
C. R. Macchi is a clinical associate professor and academic program lead of integrated behavioral health in ASU's College of Health Solutions. Dr. Macchi has developed training programs for health care professionals in primary care settings, substance abuse and mental health services, and home-based family therapy clinical programs.
Rodger Kessler is the chair of research and evaluation for the integrated behavioral health program and a professor of biomedical informatics at ASU's College of Health Solutions. A health psychologist with more than 25 years of practice in family medicine, Dr. Kessler has designed, implemented and evaluated the effectiveness of many medical and health care integration projects.
