Bio

Beau is an instructor of architecture at The Design School. To expand his knowledge to write, teach and mentor about the future of our profession, Beau sought out various professional experiences over 32 years of practice ranging from the small artist/architect firm to the corporate architecture firms to the engineering dominant “E and A” firm to establishing and leading a southwest regional A+E design integration team for a national design-build company. He is an award winning architect that has developed extensive integrated design expertise and is pursuing way more architecture as Principal of a newly revived firm in Phoenix AZ, focused on advanced technology and cultural integrated design projects. Beau has broad integrated design expertise in Design-Bid-Build, CMaR, Design-Build and Integrated Design delivery. He is a member of AIA, DBIA, SCUP and NCARB. He has a Master of Architecture from Arizona State University and teaches as an undergraduate and graduate student professor and mentor. He volunteers teaching design to design-build teams at Northern Arizona University School of Construction. He is an active volunteer teaching STEM focused architecture and engineering principles to elementary school students and has developed STEM teaching tools to expand the student understanding of architecture and engineering. Beau is 33 years married, has four adult kids, one son and three daughters. He loves backpacking, nurturing chickens to achieve the best egg while also, as an avid cookie baker, pursuing the best cookie experience. He is a very active hobbyist, loves coffee and thoughtful conversation, reading, analogue vinyl and fly fishing.
