Dr. Cameron McClellan loves being a professor and has just landed his dream job at Tequesta University in the beautiful paradise of South Florida.

The members of the McClellan family are excited about relocating to the sunny and warm beaches of the Atlantic coast, and all the opportunities that lie ahead. Yet, his dream job soon becomes a nightmare following confrontations with the volatile Tequesta U. president.

When he is fired, for no apparent reason, his personal storm becomes entangled with hurricane season, and the discovery of nine severed bodies in sinkholes intrigues him. The decades-old cold cases and Cameron’s work with a local retired detective begin to piece together the puzzle that connects missing professors to the sinkhole discoveries.

However, nothing is as shocking as his final discovery, that of uncovering the identity of the unlikely person responsible for the gruesome murders of the professors and reasons why they had to die.
