"Public and Private Education in America: Examining the Facts" addresses controversial questions on education in America. In the book, Casey D. Cobb (PhD, '98) and Gene V Glass (emeritus faculty) answer a broad selection of the most contentious questions facing education in the United States today, among them:
• Do today’s full-time virtual schools offer a high-quality education for students?
• Are charter schools more innovative than traditional public schools?
• Are American schools less safe now than in the past?
• Does homeschooling lead to better outcomes for students than traditional public schools?
• Do school vouchers produce better student outcomes?
• Are small schools better than large schools in providing a quality education to students?

Bios
Casey D. Cobb is the Neag Professor of Educational Policy at the University of Connecticut. He holds an Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University, an Master of Science from the University of Maine, and a PhD from ASU's former College of Education (now called the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College.)
Gene V Glass is an American statistician and researcher working in educational psychology and the social sciences. He is an emeritus Regents’ Professor at ASU./p>
