"Fitness for Life: Middle School (2nd ed.)" is a middle-school physical education text to teach concepts and self-management skills that promote good fitness, health and wellness throughout life. The content meets national and state physical education and fitness education standards. This evidence-based program includes nine chapters on topics such as health-related physical fitness, guidelines for performing moderate and vigorous physical activity as well as flexibility and muscle fitness exercises. Body composition and nutrition topics are also included. Students learn self-management skills such as self-assessment and monitoring and goal setting that allow them to plan and perform their own personal fitness plan. Fitness for Life earned the Texty Award for Excellence from the Text and Academic Authors Association. E-book and interactive web versions are available.

ASU Professor Emeritus Charles B. (Chuck) Corbin has more than 100 books and over 200 journal articles to his credit. He is an internationally recognized expert in physical activity, health and wellness, whose honors include induction into the SHAPE America Hall of Fame and the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness and Nutrition Lifetime Achievement Award.
An ASU doctoral grad, Guy C. Le Masurier is professor of physical education at Victoria Island University, British Columbia, Canada. He has published numerous articles and is widely sought after as a speaker on topics related to youth physical activity and physical education in the United States and Canada. He is senior author of "Fitness for Life: Canada" and several other books.
