Fitness for Life: Canada
"Fitness for Life: Canada" is a high school physical education text to teach concepts that promote good fitness, health and wellness throughout life. Of the 21 chapters, eight focus on building fitness through the FITT formula for physical activity, four focus on avoiding unhealthy lifestyles and the rest cover nutrition, healthy body composition, consumerism, stress management and leadership. Other concepts include self-management skills such as self-assessment and monitoring, goal setting, time management and personal portfolio creation. Based on the HELP philosophy (Health for Everyone for Lifetime in a very Personal way), the book uses the Stairway to Fitness, Health and Wellness model to help students move from dependence to independent problem-solving and decision-making.
