The End of Heroes

Author Kevin Herbst

Malthus Kierin always dreamed of adventuring, of making his mark upon the world of Kalan. After he earns his robe and staff, rewards for passing the tests required to become a wizard, the door to his dreams stands open.

But a nightmare awaits him on the other side, a black-hearted wizard who, along with his vile undead minions, systematically assassinates all of Kalan’s heroes.

The tale of Malthus and his small band of companions begins, as they flee from the Darkener on a seemingly hopeless quest for aid. Who now will become heroes? Or will Kalan fall to an age of darkness?

Praise for this book

I started this book a week ago and have not been able to put it down. The only problem is i have but 20 pages left and then i have to wait for the next two books to come out! Normally, I do not read much as many books just don't have that unknown quality that sucks me in. I have not been this enthralled in a book since Weiss & Hickmans original "Dragon Lance" trilogy or R.A. Salvatore's introduction and continuing stories of "Drizzit." In a word ... Fantastic!

Which colored robe would you wear? The color selection will be defined by the reasons for your actions and not your actions themselves. In addition to this intriguing concept, the trilogy contains several twists and turns that keep the pages turning and plenty of lighthearted adult humor. I greatly enjoyed all three books and would recommend them to anyone that is looking for a quick, thought provoking read.
