ASU Library implements new discovery system
In an effort to better connect the ASU community to the information resources and digital tools they need, ASU Library is implementing a newly integrated library services platform (LSP) that will enhance and expand library services and operational workflows university-wide.
Supporting ASU's commitment to innovation and accessibility, the new system will enable ASU Library to continuously refresh and unveil new digital tools that will allow students and faculty to search, browse, share and customize materials in increasingly robust and intuitive ways.
Additionally, the platform will support broader integration of information resources through its alignment with the University of Arizona (UA) and Northern Arizona University (NAU), part of a tri-university LSP collaboration to ensure greater fiscal responsibility and operational efficiency.
The new LSP system is cloud based, with improved discovery, analytics, and other capabilities as well as simplified and more efficient staff workflows. With the new LSP we can replace the 4-6 different systems (from different vendors) that are not integrated, with integrated modules that meet the functional needs of the ASU Library.
Look for the change to be in effect on July 12th. The main search/discovery page will be available at https://lib.asu.edu as well as through My ASU and Blackboard.
