As part of our commitment to a mobile-friendly website, we have made the web interface for interlibrary loan more flexible, so it will be easier to use on phones and tablets.
The look and feel will remain the same, and if you are viewing it on a full-sized computer screen you may not notice any difference at all. If you view it on your mobile device, however, you will notice one drastic change: it fits on the screen!
The strategy we employed is to track where the elements on the page naturally flow to and respond accordingly. For instance, if the sidebar on the right floats down below the table in the center, the sidebar is reshaped to fit there more nicely. If the table floats down below the menu on the left, the menu is truncated to a search box, a “logoff” link, and a link to the main menu.
On the main menu page it wouldn’t make much sense to truncate the menu, so the tables are removed instead. These tables can still be viewed by selecting “Outstanding Requests” or “Electronically Received Articles” from the menu.
