The ASU Libraries are pleased to announce that Dr. Ann Dutton Ewbank, Education Liaison Librarian at the Fletcher Library, has been honored by Library Journal, the national library trade publication, as one of their 2009 Movers and Shakers.  Her profile "Ann Dutton Ewbank: Activists" was published in conjunction with the March 15, 2009 issue of Library Journal and is now available online.  The article highlights Ann's work educating "everyone—especially city, state, and national legislators—about the role librarians play in developing 21st-century literacies in today's students."

Movers and Shakers is an annual Library Journal supplement " identify librarians, vendors, and others who are shaping the future of libraries."   Since 2002 Library Journal has identified over 400 innovators in the field of librarianship who ... and who "comprise the coming generation of library leadership."

Ann joined the ASU Libraries in July 2006, and also served as teacher librarian for five years at Cholla Middle School in Phoenix, Arizona.  She has a PhD in education from Arizona State University, an M.A. in information resources and library science from the University of Arizona, and a B.S. in secondary education from Northern Arizona University.

The ASU Libraries have had two other librarians named "Movers and Shakers":  Katherine O'Clair, in 2007, and Jennifer Duvernay, in 2005.
