Importing Records from Google Scholar

Steps to follow to import citation information from the ASU Libraries Catalog into Refworks:

Configuring Google Scholar for Export to RefWorks

  • To configure the direct export to RefWorks, you must configure Google Scholar by clicking on the Scholars Preferences link:

Click on 'Scholar Preferences'

  • And by selecting RefWorks as your default in the Bibliography Manager area and saving your preferences:

Select 'RefWorks' in Bibliography Manager options.

Use Google Scholar

  • Conduct your search in Google Scholar.
  • Each record displayed will have an Import into RefWorks link.  Clicking on the link will launch the RefWorks login page.

Click on the 'Import into RefWorks' link to import ciation into RefWorks.

  • Once you log in, you are brought automatically to the Edit view of the reference.  If you do not wish to edit the record, you can navigate to any other area of RefWorks.
  • Your record is stored in your Last Imported Folder
