Refworks: Macintosh Write-n-Cite Download

What is Write-n-Cite?

Write-n-Cite is a utility that allows you to cite your sources from within a Microsoft word document.  It will format both the in-text citations, and the reference list/bibliography automatically.

 

Downloading Write-N-Cite

 

First log into RefWorks.  From the Refworks screen, choose Write-n-Cite from the "Tools" menu.

A new window will pop up.  From that window, choose the download appropriate for your computer, either Windows or Mac.

Macintosh Off-Campus Write-n-Cite Proxy Configuration


From the Finder menu, choose APPLICATIONS (See screenshot). Double click on the Write-N-Cite icon in the APPLICATIONS folder to start Write-N-Cite.

From the Write-N-Cite pulldown menu, choose PREFERENCES.


Choose Preferences from Write-N-Cite menu




Then on the Write-N-Cite popup screen, select PROXY


Select Proxy




Enter:

http://ezproxy1.lib.asu.edu/login?url=https://www.refworks.com/Refworks/?WNC=true


in the Proxy Server URL textbox.  And, click OK.

Note: Mac users will click on the FILE pulldown menu, select OPEN, and then from a list of open WORD files, choose the WORD file you would like to work with or activate.
